Gomez started her acting career on the popular children's TV show Barney & Friends (2002-2004). When she was a teenager, she rose to prominence for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films, including Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010).
