After attending an alternative school for juveniles who were delinquent, she was sexually assaulted by a school teacher. Annie Lederman was one of the female students that testified during the trial following the incident. In the following days, she encountered a few problematic classmates involved in drugs and criminal acts. After graduation from high school at the age of 17 Annie Lederman spent the next time volunteering for work first teaching dolphins Hawaii and then working for a nonprofit organization that was based in Central America aiding disadvantaged children.
